EMCOR Group subsidiary builds largest heat exchanger ever for ExxonMobil

12-Mar-08
EMCOR Group subsidiary Ohmstede Ltd. has completed the fabrication of the largest heat exchanger in its history, for ExxonMobil Chemical in Baytown, Texas. Ohmstede engineered, designed, procured materials, and built the 167.5 ton propylene refrigerant desuperheater/condenser exchanger in its Sulphur, Louisiana plant. Drilling of the tube sheets and baffles was done at its Beaumont, Texas facility. Due to its weight and the challenge it posed to land bridges, the exchanger was shipped by rail to ExxonMobil's location. EMCOR Group is a leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses globally.
