Estane® Engineered Polymers reactivates previously discontinued TPU Series

08-Jun-09
The Estane® Engineered Polymers business of The Lubrizol Corporation announced the reactivation of Pellethane® 2102 thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) which were discontinued due to concerns about raw material availability. "With the current business outlook and the predicted additional capacity coming on line, we are confident that we can meet the demand and are committed to supplying the entire portfolio of polycaprolactone-based products," says Jennifer Branton, product manager, Estane® Engineered Polymers. Pellethane® TPUs range from hard to soft and can be fabricated by a variety of methods from injection molding to extrusion to blow molding. These elastomers offer a combination of properties in an engineering thermoplastic including clarity and abrasion resistance, tensile strength and chemical resistance.
