Evonik Industries has recently opened its US$10 mln ROHACELL® facility in Mobile, Alabama/USA, which produces material used in applications ranging from wind turbine blades to satellite launch rockets. The new plant was the company's first plant outside Europe and will serve to reduce delivery times for North American market, which has witnessed increased demand ROHACELL core materials. Polymethacrylimide rigid foam ROHACELL is an ideal lightweight material for the aerospace industry. Besides, the composite structural sandwich components are also used in sectors like medical, automotive, wind energy, mass transportation, marine and others.
