A series of explosions at No.101 Chemical Plant resulted in deaths at PetroChina's Jilin plant. Preliminary investigations show five people were killed, one person is missing and two people were severely injured. The explosions occurred at an aniline facility of a dianil plant at Jilin Petrochemical Co., a unit of PetroChina. The fire was brought under control in about 8 hours later, by which time all the toxic substances on the scene were burnt out. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Major operation, production as well as expansion work has not been affected at Jilin Petrochemical.
