Naphtha cracker expansion at PetroChina's Jilin city facility has not been affected by blasts at a far out section of the same plant that spans 20 kilometres. The explosions were at the western end, whereas the naphtha cracker is on the eastern side.
PetroChina's 380,000 tpa unit was taken offline for work related to the expansion a few months ago. After expansion, capacity at Jilin will rise to 600,000 tpa by the end of this year.
