ExxonMobil to build compounding facility at Baton Rouge

As part of its' global compounding strategy and commitment to provide engineered thermoplastic materials to the automotive and consumer products industries, ExxonMobil Chemical plans to build a new facility at its Baton Rouge, Louisiana, complex to produce specialty compounded products. Construction is expected to begin in October 2006, and the new facility is expected to start-up in Q2-2007 The Baton Rouge plant will manufacture a wide gamut of commercial compounded products including ExxonMobil Chemical's Performance Polyolefin grades (compounded polypropylene), Santoprene(TM) thermoplastic elastomers and other specialty elastomers.
