ExxonMobil to invest over US$1 bln in 3 refineries to boost diesel supply by 6 mln gallons/day

ExxonMobil Refining & Supply will invest over US$1 bln in 3 refineries to boost its diesel supply by about 6 mln gallons a day. Investments will be made in modifying the Baytown Refinery, and capacity augmentation at the refineries in Baton Rouge, LA and Antwerp, Belgium, scheduled to be completed by 2010. The Baytown Refinery is the largest in USA, with an output of approximately 567,000 bpd, also producing polypropylene and butyl polymers. The complex consists of a refinery, as well as two chemical plants and two research centers. The Baton Rouge Chemical plant has crude capacity of approx 503,000 bpd and also produces chemicals, alcohols, acids and oxygenated fluids. The Antwerp Refinery is ExxonMobil's second largest in Europe.
