A fires at LyondellBasell Industries’ La Porte, Texas, plant at a non-operating part of the facility and has been contained by staff, as per Bloomberg. The fire occurred in a part of the chemical complex that is being demolished, and is unrelated to an earlier flaring incident that was reported on the community hotline. The status of the operations has not been disclosed.
The La Porte complex produces ethylene, propylene, linear low-density polyethylene and low-density polyethylene.
