Asia's number one naphtha buyer Formosa Petrochemical Corp has delayed the restart of its 1.03 mln tpa No. 2 naphtha cracker due to minor leakages. The cracker has been shut since Oct. 5 for a 40 day routine maintenance. This unforeseen delay has prompted Formosa to try and delay the arrival of 120,000 ton of naphtha to January from December.
