Production of naphtha as a by-product of LPG fractionation has commenced for the first time at GAIL's Pata plant after suitable modifications in the process parameters. State-owned GAIL has made its first entry into naphtha marketing with the supply of one naphtha tanker to NTPC, Auraiya out of 14,000 mt to be supplied annually.
Similar process changes have been planned at GAIL's plants located at Vijaipur in MP and Gandahar in Gujarat and the naphtha to be manufactured at these locations has already been tied up with other unit of NTPC at Anta. Post modification, GAIL's total naphtha capacity will rise to 65,000 mtpa
