Germany's ALTANA Group acquires DyStar's additives business

ALTANA Group, a Germany-based specialty chemical company, recently announced acquisition of the high-performance additives business of the Frankfurt based DyStar group. The acquired business with annual of sales of about EUR 7.5 mln will be integrated into the company's BYK Additives & Instruments division while the production will merged into BYK´s main factory in Wesel (Germany). The newly bought business comprises the technologies for the production of additives, for the processing of plastics compounds. At present, the ALTANA Group has 33 production facilities and 46 service and research laboratories worldwide. The company's product range includes additives, special coatings and adhesives, effect pigments, sealants and compounds, impregnating resins & varnishes, and testing and measuring instruments.
