Leading supplier of plastics extrusion machinery Gloucester Engineering announced they have received an order from Scientex Packaging Film Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) for the purchase of their second 4000mm, 7-Layer Cast Stretch Film Line for its Pulau Indah Cast Stretch Facility in Malaysia. Scientex Packaging Film Sdn Bhd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Scientex Berhad, a Malaysian Stock Exchange listed company which is also one of the largest polyethylene stretch film producers in Asia. The line is scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2009. Scientex chose this line due to Gloucester Engineering's experience and sophisticated extrusion, casting, winding and control technology that will allow Scientex to meet its customers demanding quality and performance requirements.
According to Scientex, the Gloucester Engineering line will provide the highest proven outputs available in the market today for Cast Stretch Film, providing an investment that makes the most economic sense especially critical given the competitive nature of this business and the current state of the economy. Scientex has a state of the art Cast Stretch Facility consisting of 7 lines with an annual production capacity of over 85,000 tons of high-quality films which are presently being exported to over 60 countries globally.
