Gujarat government proposes Gujarat Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Special Investment Region (GPCPSIR) for Dahej

The Gujarat government has proposed to set up a Gujarat Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Special Investment Region (GPCPSIR) for Dahej industrial estate, Vagra and Bharuch taluka in Bharuch district. Presentations were given to the stakeholders of Bharuch and Vagra taluka by the GIDC and a draft document to set up a regional development authority for GPCPSIR was announced on April 8. The GPCPSIR development will be in three phases and would continue up to 2040. Many studies with regard to land use compatibility, environmental sustainability, accessibility to major roads, rail infrastructure, port development, water, power and gas supply, drainage, effluent and waste disposal in the region have already been conducted.
