MoUs worth Rs 12 lakh crores were inked signed during the two-day Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit (VGGIS) 2009 organised in Ahmedabad, including 39 MoUs over Rs 41,002 crores in chemicals and petrochemicals sector. Total number of MoUs signed in the VGGIS 2009 reached 8,558 paving way for about 20 lakh jobs in the state. As many as 39 MoUs worth over Rs 41,002 crore in chemicals and petrochemicals sector were signed. The conclave was attended by the top Indian industry leaders and delegations from more than 30 countries.
The other sectors which attracted major investments during the mega event included energy (Rs 3.82-lakh crore) and urban development (Rs 1.02-lakh crore).
