Haldia Petro net doubles in 2006-07

Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) reported a 95% surge in net profit to Rs 584 crore during 2006-07 from Rs 300 crore in the last year. Total income of the company grew 21% at Rs 8,376 crore in 2006-07 as against Rs 6,298 crore in 2005-06. Operating profit increased 25% to Rs 1421 crore as compared to Rs 1138 crore in the last year. HPL is a joint venture project with Government of West Bengal, The Chatterjee Group, Tatas and Indian Oil Corporation as major stakeholders.
