Huntsman hikes prices of selected TPUs owing to rising raw material cost

Hunstman, a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals ahs announced a price hike in the range of 5% to 15% on its IROGRAN®, KRYSTALGRAN® and KRYSTALFLEX® thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) in Europe Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent w.e.f. October 1, 2008. The announcement comes in the light of continuous rise in feedstock cost (crude oil) which affects the cost of benzene, adipic acid and intermediate polyesters, which form the major raw materials for TPU. The Polyurethanes division of Huntsman assured that the price hike was imminent in order to provide its customers with a continuous supply of quality TPU products in a competitive and fast growing environment.
