Hurricane damage and weakening economies compel DuPont to reduce annual earning outlook

22-Oct-08
Q3 profits at DuPont have dropped by 30% to US$367 mln, caused by loss of production due to hurricane damage and weakening economies of North America and Western Europe. This scenario has compelled DuPont to reduce its earning outlook for the year, even as sales rise to more than estimated figure of US$7.3 bln. Annual earnings view for 2008 was previously forecast at US$3.25-3.30, and has now been brought down to US$3.45-3.55.
