Thai petrochemical producer Indorama Polymers PCL's, U.S. unit Starpet USA does not seem likely to experience any major production disruption as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Although the hurricane has led to the closure of a number of petrochemical plants in southern areas of the U.S., Starpet has escaped unscathed as it does not have any suppliers in the affected region.
Indorama, Thailand's largest producer of PET, plans to expand its annual production capacity from 226,000 tons to 508,000 tons in 2006.
