The Perstorp Group, an innovative world leader in specialty chemicals, is increasing its investment in the North East Asia Region. Considerable investments have already been made into a new Neopentyl Glycol plant at Zibo, in China, as well as increasing sales, market development and customer support resources throughout the region. Jan Secher, Perstorp’s President & CEO sees these latest investments as part of Perstorp’s long-standing strategic commitment to the region, and its future development potential.
Perstorp has an unusually long history and commitment to the region of Asia. This is now helping to transform Perstorp’s market position into a strong platform for future success and growth, especially with the latest investments in place. “North East Asia is strategically very important to us, not just because of the rapid growth today, but because we see even greater potential in the future. Having traded in the region for over 100 years we understand the business dynamics, we are actively contributing to the region’s success and we are investing significantly in its future”, Jan Secher, President & CEO, highlights Perstorp’s commitment to the region. Perstorp is becoming a strong local player within the Asian specialty chemicals industry. Our dedicated local manufacturing, warehouses, and support infrastructure has been recently strengthened by further investments in plant, production and people. Most notably is the substantial investment in the new Neopentyl Glycol plant at Zibo in China, alongside our TMP production platform, which secures our ability to respond to the fast growth in the region for these two coating technologies. Further sizeable investments in people, across all functions is aimed at increasing our customer response in line with anticipated regional growth.
The new Neo plant is a triumph of Chinese and Swedish engineering. This state-of-the-art plant is based on the latest technology and the highest safety & environmental standards. Safety is a high priority as is the local environment, so the plant also includes a wastewater treatment facility. The plant is fully functional and has been producing top quality Neo right from its operational start-up in September 2013. Available in both flakes and liquid Neo is an essential building block in powder coatings and stoving enamel applications.
