Swiss manufacturer of polyolefin foams, Sekisui Alveo along with Foam Techniques Ltd. has come out with a new insulation system for reducing the engine and noise reduction for vehicles. The laminate is made of the heavy layer foam Alveolen NFF E, the soft foam Alveo-Soft and a metallised film. The insulation material is 8 mm and is inserted between the metal structure and a wooden board lying on top. Due to the welded assembly and the rivets lying underneath the floor, it eliminates the unevenness of rivets and welded seams on the metal floor. The film side of Alveo-Soft, which ensures initial thermal insulation, lies facing downwards on the metal. Compared to the films made of bitumen or EPDM, Alveo-Soft foam is much better. Also, the heat insulation and acoustic properties are provided by Alveolen NFF E - a heavy layer foam atop Alveo-Soft. This new insulation system offers high growth potential in commercial vehicle sectors, as per an official of Sekisui Alveo.
