Fluor Corporation announced that along with P2S, a unit of its Global Services Group, it has received 10 awards for "Meritorious Safety Performance" from the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) for projects the company worked on throughout 2007. P2S uses a "Zero Incident" policy to encourage employees to practice safety at all times. "In 2007, P2S had more than 2 million hours without incident," said Scotty Scott, vice president of P2S. "This supports our goal of 'Zero Incidents' as an obtainable objective."
NPRA hosts an annual Safety Awards Banquet during the National Safety Conference to honor those who have excelled in managing safe operations. This year, the banquet was held in The Woodlands, Texas, where 130 companies received awards for accomplishments during the 2007 calendar year. "Our companies work hard every day to develop safer processes and procedures, and the National Safety Conference further encourages the implementation of these best practices for the safety and well-being of employees, the public and the environment," said NPRA president Charlie Drevna. "NPRA is proud to recognize these award-winning facilities for their extraordinary commitment to safe operations."
