For the month of January, Japan's naphtha imports for the petrochemical sector dropped 27% as compared to the previous month. Imports of naphtha for ethylene production totaled 783,907 ton in January as compared with 1,070,821 tons in December.
The average naphtha import cost in January fell to US$341.4/ton from $459.6/ton in December.
