Kiefel's thermoforming and blown film extrusion business to join Brückner

15-Jan-07
With effect from 1 January, JM - a private investment company owned by Jakob Müller and other family members, has sold the Kiefel plastics processing machinery businesses. The businesses sold include Kiefel AG in Freilassing, manufacturer of thermoforming machinery, Kiefel Extrusion in Worms, manufacturer of blown film extrusion lines and its Swiss winder subsidiary Wintech. All these companies will become part of Siegdorf-based Brückner, which produces primarily biaxial orientation equipment for both blown and cast film. JM will now focus on the production and sale of plastic film through its retained ownership in Renolit and Rheinische Kunststoffwerk (RKW). The Kiefel businesses will take the expanded Brückner group's turnover to €320 mln.
