Korean company, Taekwang Industrial is planning to go for a week long maintenance shut down for its 1 mln tpa purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Ulsan from Oct 16. However, the supplies to contract customers are not likely to be affected. Asia is facing a sluggish demand for PTA and the prices have plummeted by about twenty five dollars to US$820/ton CFR China.
