L&T Heavy Engg to export four reactors to OMPL

17-Aug-11
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Heavy Engineering has accomplished an esteemed project of manufacturing four critical reactors for ONGC’s Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL) complex in India. The joint venture between India’s L&T and The Zubair Corp., will export these to India this week to be installed in Mangalore Aromatic Complex. The equipments were manufactured at the L&T Heavy Engineering manufacturing complex in Sohar. The reactors were fabricated from materials sourced from Europe and Japan in about six months. Two of the equipments manufactured are NHT reactors which are essential for hydro treating Naphtha to decrease sulphur and nitrogen content, as these impurities are dangerous for downstream catalytic reforming reactor catalyst. The catalytic reforming unit constructs a mix of BTX and other heavy aromatics.
