Land acquisition constraints force KSIDC to scale down size of proposed petrochemicals parks

21-May-15
Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation has been compelled to scale down the size of a proposed petrochemicals park amid hurdles to land acquisition. The area of the park has now been reduced to about 100 acres, as per The Hindu. Despite the difficulties in finding sufficient land for a larger park, KSIDC expects the proposed facility to be ready ahead of the completion of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s petrochemicals complex, slated to be commissioned by mid-2018. KSIDC plans to establish the petrochem park close to the Kochi refinery considering the advantages it offers.
