Lanxess has completed a 20,000 tpa expansion of its PA 6 plant at Uerdingen, Germany through the addition of further processing stages. Though the plant's total capacity has not been disclosed, but the company had last year announced that following the EUR 12 mln extension - designed in particular to support production of "Durethan" specialities, used in high-end automotive applications as well as packaging - it would be the world's second largest for the base polymer.
