South Korean LG Chem's consolidated profits for the year have recorded an increase of 48.1% as against last year. Profits rose to Won 537 billion (US$523 million) from Won 363 billion in 2003.
In LG Chem's Chemicals and Polymers division, 2004 sales totalled Won 4.152 trillion with an operating profit of Won 369.6 billion. Within its Chemicals and Polymers division sales were broken down as follows: PVC/plasticizers : Won 1.465 trillion
Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene/polystyrene (ABS/PS) : Won 1.436 trillion
Polyolefins: Won 450.5 billion
Acrylates: Won 444.6-billion
Engineering plastics: Won 304.3 billion
Specialty resins: Won 233.4 billion
