London Borough of Brent makes recycling compulsory; imposes heavy fine for non-compliance

The recycling levels in the London Borough of Brent (UK) have rose from 150 tons/week in July to 240 tons/week in the first week of August owing to the 'green box' recycling scheme that includes plastics among other waste. In this 'green box' initiative by the London Borough of Brent, the UK council has made recycling compulsory for the residents of houses and apartments and imposing a fine of UK£1,000 who does not comply.
