South Korea's Lotte Daesan has nearly halved its styrene production capacity in Daesan to repair a pipeline leak. The repair shutdown is estimated to last for two days, leading Lotte to lose about 1,000-1,500mt of styrene production.
Though this may not be a large loss to the company, it will contribute to worsen the ethylene supply shortage in Asia, that has already pushed up styrene eprices by US$30.
