LyondellBasell plans to permanently shut its 110000 tpa LDPE plant that has been idled for the past few weeks. Located at Fos-sur-Mer in France, this plant, the company's smallest is no longer economically viable. The requirements of LDPE customers will be met from the 300,000 tpa plant at Berre in France, which has superior investment and operational economics. The company is in discussion with the employees.
