In a bid to consolidate its North American-based polypropylene compounding production, sales, marketing and technology activities, Netherlands headquartered LyondellBasell Industries plans to close its compounding facility in Grand Prairie and move to a plant in Mansfield, as well as to its new plant in Altamira, Mexico. The company will close its sales and application development center in Auburn Hills, Mich., and relocate it to Lansing, Mich. as part of plans to consolidate its North American polypropylene compounding production business following its February purchase of Solvay Engineered Polymers Inc.
Both the Grand Prairie and Auburn Hills locations are scheduled to close by the end of this year.
