Menzolit, the largest producer of fibre reinforced compounds in the world has recently opened its new compounding plant in Shanghai that will produce sheet moulding compounds (SMC) and bulk moulding compounds (BMC) for the China and other Asian markets. The new Shanghai-based plant underlines the mutual local cooperation between Menzolit and long-time industry partner DSM Composite Resins, which has resin production facilities in nearby Nanjing. DSM Composite Resins already supplies resins and other ingredient products used in the Mezolit's European production facilities of SMC-BMC.
The opening of Menzolit's Shanghai-facility brings an vital component to the local SMC industry and its value chain in China. DSM and Menzolit are expected to work in tandem in order to professionalize the complete value chain, and unearth new opportunities in the region.
