Methanex Corp has plans to sign an agreement with state-owned Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company to build a new methanol plant in Damietta Port, Egypt. The proposed facility on the Mediterranean coast would have an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons of methanol. The companies expect to make a final decision on the project in 2006.
