Mitsubishi Chemicals has scheduled turnarounds at two naphtha crackers in May 2005. The plant in Mizushima, with a capacity to produce 450,000 mta of ethylene will begin a 30 day shutdown in early May while the plant in Kashima, with similar capacity will begin a 40 day turnaround in mid-May.
Mitsubishi Chem has another smaller 340,000 mta naphtha cracker in Kashima. All three crackers are currently operating at 100% capacities.
