Toyo Engineering has been finalized by Kazanorg sintez, the largest polyethylene manufacturer in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, in collaboration with Mitsui & Co, to design and procure equipment for the Tatarstan's first bisphenol A (BPA) and polycarbonate (PC) production facilities. With the facilities, Toyo Engineering will be able to meet a rapidly growing demand for PC in Russia. The company also plans to export the products to European and Asian markets.
Slated for completion in 2007, the BPA and PC production facilities will have annual output capacities of 70,000 tons and 65,000 tons respectively. Idemitsu Kosan and Asahi Kasei Chemicals will license BPA and PC manufacturing technologies, respectively.
