New polypropylene-ethylene copolymers for enhanced clarity

17-Feb-05
Lyondell Chemical Company's Equistar Chemicals business has introduced two new polypropylene-ethylene copolymer resins, for use in molding and extrusion applications including blow molding, sheet, injection molding and film, where enhanced clarity is essential. The end applications include food containers, beverage bottles and personal care product packaging. For a superior product with exceptional clarity, faster cycle times, dimensional stability and toughness, the company has incorporated Millad 3988 clarifying agent into the resins. The new polypropylene-ethylene copolymer resins are compliant with the Food and Drug Administration regulations and can be used to produce food storage containers and closures that come into contact with food.
