NOVA declares FM at two Canadian plants

Due to an extension of previously announced shutdowns, NOVA Chemicals Corp. has declared force majeure (FM) on on ethylene, propylene and other co-products at its Corunna, Ontario, plant and on polyethylene at its Sarnia, Ontario, facilities. Planned shutdown has been extended till the second half of November at its ethylene operations in Corunna, Ontario. The other affected plant is in Sarnia, Ontario. With this disruption, Nova expects Q4 results to see a reduction by $10 mln-$15 mln in addition to the $15 mln-$25 mln that was forecast earlier.
