Oil has gained almost nine dollars since March, rising to 4-1/2 month highs with Brent crude peaking to US$65.3 per barrel, amid a slowdown in US shale oil production and the conflict in Yemen. Though Yemen is not a leading oil producer or exporter, oil producers in the Middle East region ship oil along the Gulf of Aden on Yemen's southern coast and through the narrow straits of Bab el-Mandeb, between Yemen and Djibouti. As a result fighting in the region could create log jams in delivery.
