Oil prices moved up as the market awaits the weekly report on US energy stocks. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in February, rose to US$63.67 per barrel in electronic deals before the official opening of the US market. In London, Brent North Sea crude for February delivery rose to US$63.09 dollars in electronic trading.
Further dropdowns are expected in inventory levels in a market where fresh leads have been scarce as business winds down ahead of the festive holidays.
