The Linde Group and its consortium partner Samsung Engineering (Korea) have been awarded a Rs 68 bln (US$1.39 bln) contract to build a turnkey ethylene plant at Dahej, Gujarat. The plant has been commissioned by ONGC Petro-additions Ltd, a subsidiary of ONGC. Linde's share in the contract is around €350 mln for the plant that will be the largest of its kind in India and one of the largest ethylene plants in the world.
The plant will be built by July 2012 under the deal with ONGC Petro Additions Ltd and have an annual capacity of 1.1 mln tons of ethylene and 340,000 tons of propylene.
