Arkema divests one of its two Italian Vinyl Compounding site

French chemical producer, Arkema has divested its Vanzaghello-based Vinyl Compounding in Italy to the Italian company Industrie Generali spa (IGS) in order to refocus its vinyl compound range on high-tech applications, in particular in the medical equipment market. The company's another Italian Vinyl Compounding site in Samarate has expertise in medical equipment market, it said in a press release. The Vanzaghello activity, the company adds, generates annual sales of the order of EUR 22 mln, and employs 19 people, who will be joining IGS on March 1st 2009, the effective date of the sale. Arkema is a leading player in vinyl compounds, with industrial facilities in five European countries: Resinoplast (France / Reims), Resil (Belgium / Ghent), Plasgom (Spain / Barcelona), Resitech (Germany / Leipzig), and Resilia (Italy / Samarate and Vanzaghello).
