Oil & Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) will skip naphtha exports from Hazira port in February due to berth maintenance in progress since Jan. 28, and likely put the Hazira cargoes into the domestic supply chain, as per Reuters. The berth maintenance at the Hazira terminal, which belongs to Reliance Industries, is expected to last 50 to 60 days, and could affect ONGC's naphtha exports in March as well. Normally, ONGC caps its spot naphtha exports at 3 cargoes per month, totalling 105,000 tons, while its monthly average is pegged at two spot cargoes a month from Hazira and one cargo from Mumbai port.
India’s export volumes of naphtha will fall by at least 60,000 tons due to the port maintenance. This is coming at a time when the unrest in Egypt has caused concerns over possible delays in naphtha cargoes from the Suez, although no disruptions have been reported so far.
