Pequiven raises ethylene output to 2002-2003 levels

30-Oct-06
Pequiven, the state petrochemicals firm in Venezuela, has raised ethylene output back to the levels before the oil strike in 2002-2003, when a 63-day strike resulted in an at least 50% cut in the plants' production. Olefinas I and Olefinas II facilities at the El Tablazo petrochemicals complex have achieved an average production of 1469 tons/day, very close to the company's target of 1500-1520 tons/day. A neighbouring PVC plant achieved record output of 645 tons/day in September this year.
