The Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) will be honouring the top exporters of plastic products during their Export Award function scheduled to be held at 11.00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Hotel InterContinental The Grand, Sahar Airport Road, Mumbai.
Mr B.K. Handique, Hon'ble Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilisers and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, will be the Chief Guest and will distribute the Export Awards to recognise and honour top exporters of Plastic products from India. Export Awards are being presented for top export performance during the years 2004-05 and 2005-06 for 46 categories of products.
Plastic exports have scaled new heights, crossing the USD 2 billion mark during 2005-06, and are slated to eclipse the USD 3 billion mark during the current fiscal. Plastic exports from India are mainly headed to the advanced markets in North America, Europe, China and the Middle East. Plexconcil, which celebrated its Golden Jubilee year in 2005 is actively exploring new markets in Africa, Latin America, CIS Countries and ASEAN under the Focus-market initiatives of the Department of Commerce, Government of India, to enhance opportunities for plastic exporters and achieve rapid growth in the highly competitive international marketplace.
