Performance Fibers to augment its capacity for HMLS polyester fibre and fabric in China

Answering to the rising demand from the Chinese tyre industry, US-based Performance Fibers have announced another capacity expansion plan for the high modules, low-shrinkage (HMLS) polyester fibre and fabric at its Kaiping-based plant in China. The outlay is a part of the multiphase expansion to commence in November, with the following phase starting operations in early 2009. As per a senior authority in the firm, this investment demonstrates the commitment to meet the global demand of the tyre industry that is seeing an increased growth. Performance Fibers is a global supplier of polyester fibers and fabrics, nylon 6,6, engineered fabrics, sewing thread fibers and advanced materials.
