Philippines' JG Summit to import first naphtha cargo for the start-up of cracker in March

06-Dec-13
JG Summit Petrochemical Corp, a unit of JG Summit Holdings Inc, is looking to import its first naphtha cargo in preparation for the start-up of its 300,000-350,000 tpa ethylene naphtha cracker in March 2014, as per Reuters. The Philippines’ petrochemical maker is scouting for a medium-range vessel size naphtha cargo for February delivery and the process could take up to about a week. This demand for naphtha comes amid tight supplies and strong demand in the region. Demand in Asia is strengthening as most petrochemical units are running at full capacity.
