Dow Chemical Canada plans to carry out planned maintenance work at a fractionation unit at its joint venture polyethylene unit at Fort Saskatchewan in central Alberta from January 4-6, as per Platts. The 650,000 tpa LLDPE/HDPE swing plant is operated by MEGlobal, a 50:50 joint venture between Dow and Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Company.
Intermittent flaring is expected until the maintenance work is over. No details have been revealed about the effect on production levels.
