Ciech, largest chemical manufacturer in Poland has recently signed a letter of intent to acquire the only PVC maker in the country, Anwil for EUR 500 mln. Anwil is the fully owned subsidiary of the Poland's government-owned petrochem group, PKN Orlen. The Ciech Chemical Group comprises more than 30 companies with main products including soda ash (the second largest producer in Europe) and TDI (number 1 on the Polish market), plant protection chemicals, phosphate fertilizers and some other chemicals.
