In addition to marketing and distribution in Asia Pacific region, PolyOne Corporation will start manufacturing of PSG's Kostrate® Edge brand terpolymer from its Shenzhen, China manufacturing facility. Kostrate® Edge terpolymer, which is BPA-free and FDA-compliant, is an excellent replacement for polycarbonate, acrylic, SAN and general purpose polystyrene, and is well suited for applications including infant care products, house ware drinking sets, and sports bottles. Kostrate® Edge terpolymer can reduce molding cycle time and operating costs by flowing one-third times faster and reduce unit costs by allowing the production of more parts per pound without increasing molded-in stress compared to other engineering resins.
Kostrate® Edge terpolymer is a significant addition to PolyOne's portfolio. The product's manufacturing will enable PolyOne to serve customers who seek FDA-compliant, BPA-free value-enhancing alternatives to clear engineering thermoplastics having improved productivity and performance characteristics. Kostrate® Edge, a rubber modified terpolymer, is tough, clear and ductile and is available in injection molding, extrusion (profile/sheet) and blow molding grades.
